Shelia Burgess Billings entered the celestial gates on September 26, 2017 after a long battle with illness. Shelia is survived by her husband of 48 years, Bill Billings, her sister Robin (Billy) Howell, her two brothers Mark (Louie) Burgess and Lance (Amy) Burgess, her two brother-in- laws Ronnie (Marsha) Billings and Richard (Anneliese) Billings as well as numerous nieces (Amber, Faylia, Randi, Taylorfaye, Ellie Kate, Bayleigh, Audrey), nephews (Bubba (Amy) Sandefer, Bubba (Jana) Billings, Mike (Laurie), Hunter, Brantlee, Rhys, Chase. Will, and David), and god children (Glenda (Terry), Megan, Nate (Brianna), and Hunter). In recent years, Shelia and Bill also took in their great nieces, Layla (Marc), Amanda (Aaron), and Olivia Denio, and they have become like daughters to them.

Shelia enjoyed a career in healthcare as an LPN and retired from Trinity Healthcare several years ago. In her free time, she served as the Mother Advisor of Memphis Assembly #1 of the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls for many years. She was also privileged to serve as the State Mother Advisor for all of Tennessee Rainbow. She was also involved in the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron many years ago. Shelia devoted many countless hours to promoting the youth of our community and was loved by all who knew her sweet, loving spirit.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, September 29, with a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, September 30, with interment to follow, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN 38133.. Memorials can be made in her honor to LeBonheur Children's Hospital, St Jude Children's Research Hospital , or Baptist Trinity.
