Shelly Poirrier Whaley

Shelly Poirrier Whaley lost her courageous battle on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the age of 46. Beloved wife of Kelly Whaley. Mother of Coral Frickey, estranged daughter, Sidney Whaley, Jason Whaley (Nikki), Christopher Whaley, Jessica Hurley (Josh), and Michael Whaley. Daughter of Lena Bourg Poirrier and the late Frank Poirrier, Sr. Sister of Frank Poirrier, Jr., and Michelle Poirrier. Grandmother of Coral, Jr., Joseph, Gabriella, Olivia, Amilia, Layla, Lucas, Braylon, Nathan, Tyler, McKayla, and Jacob. Godmother of Ethan Miller. Also survived by all her pets. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. She loved the outdoors, fishing, crabbing, crawfishing, loved to cook and loved her animals. She fought a courgeous battle for the last 31/2 years. She was very strong. She worked at Miller Wall Elementary School for several years and was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd., Marrero, LA on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 1pm. Interment, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9am until 1pm.
