Sherie Quigley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2025.
Tucson - Sherie Lynn Quigley, affectionately known as "Sher Bear," passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 66, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on an Air Force base on January 27, 1959, in Wiltshire, England and soon after was adopted and moved to Tucson.

Sherie was a proud graduate of Catalina High School, Class of 1977. Later in life, with incredible determination and the support of her family, earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona in 2018; an achievement her family will always celebrate with pride.

Sherie's smile was contagious, her laughter unforgettable, and her warmth touched everyone who knew her. Sherie had a unique gift for making people feel loved and seen, and will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love for her children, and the light Sherie brought into every room.

Family was her greatest joy in life. She is survived by her husband/partner/best friend, Patrick, four beloved sons; Sean (Brad Cummings), Bryan, Kalin, Brendan, and mother-in-law, Esther Quigley. Sherie was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Ramona Ward and daughter Jennifer.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses and staff at TMC. A special thank you to Dr. Megan Potilechio.

Pat & family, my heart aches for you over the sad news of Sherie's passing. Although our paths have rarely intersected over the years, I'm grateful to have had the privilege of sharing laughs with Sherie during our brief visits in Tucson & Chicago, and knowing that she and Dawn hit it off as "cousins-in-law" in such a short time together. In time, I hope that you will find peace, as I have, in knowing that Sherie & Dawn have found one-another again and will watch over us as friends forever after. With love...John

I went to school with Sherie at Doolen Jr High & Catalina High class of '77. In fact, she was my date to the 8th grade graduation dance in 1973. I left Tucson after graduating UofA, but always looked forward to seeing her smiling face at our high school reunions and having a few dances! Here's a photo of me with Sherie and the 40th reunion team 9n 2017. I send my condolences to her family and know she will be dearly missed at our next CHS reunion.

First of all my condolences to the entire Quigley, family and ward family! I was pretty devastated to hear of Sherie`s passing. I did not know of Sherie`s illness and was completely taken aback to hear the news. Sherie and I were high school classmates at Catalina. We became closer friends as we both worked on our REUNION team for our last reunion gathering for our 40th. We shared quite a few lunch and happy hour visits together with our planning group, and we so enjoyed each other`s company, and getting reacquainted after all these years beyond our High School days. Yes, Sherie was always happy and positive and smiling and such a take charge person. She was terrific at her job and helped me just a few short years ago with my Medicare stuff, answering many many questions as I was quite confused at times about how it was all going to piece together but Sherie was so kind and patient with me. I told her we´ll definitely be coming back when my husband gets ready to do his. We also communicated last year about planning another get together so we could begin the process of putting together our 50th reunion in a couple more years. I know for some, 66 seems like it´s old,... but not to us class of `77 kids!! Sherie was definitely a person who exuded energy and a zest for life and you would never know she was 66. She was beautiful inside and out and I´m so very saddened about her passing. My deepest condolences to her husband and her children who I know she loved dearly and spoke about often. Until we meet again my friend. May you rest peacefully in our Lord´s loving arms in eternity! With Love, Marie Grumka Welding

Aunt Sherie and the family visited a lot during the summer. Aunt Sherie and I got to spend Girl time together. There was a Mexican food place in mission beach and we would go and eat on the beach and talk about anything and every thing. Aunt Sherie and Uncle Pat would often visit Nana and Papa Shultz. My love goes out to uncle Pat and My cousins. Also the whole Quigley And Ryan Clan. You are all in my prayers.

I met Sherie when we both worked at El Parador; she was a waitress, I played guitar in the bar. Our paths only crossed occasionally over the years, but when they did I saw the same sparkle we all loved about her. My deep condolences; may she Rest in Peace
