I knew Sherry and the Newman family beginning in fourth grade and over many, many years of personal and happy memories. Was so very saddened to hear of her passing.

A beautiful soul transforms everyone touched by its grace. My first time touched by Sherry was at our freshman mixer in high school.... We had a fun time and that may have been when she met Don who became her partner so many years later...

I never did not know Sherry. We met as babies - our fathers worked together. One of my earliest memories is of us playing with our dolls. I will try to find a picture - we were standing and smiling and Sherry was holding her doll upside down. Even then she was much taller than I.

All of our childhood Christmases were spent with "The Newmans." I believe the last time was our senior year in college.

Sherry and I connected by phone and text the past couple of months. She was spirited and hilarious even then. I am glad we had that connection.

Jess, I met you when you were a few weeks old - your Mom and you were visiting Sherry's Mom - she was nursing you on the patio behind her parents' house - it was a lovely spring or early fall day I think. My thoughts are with you - I am sure this is a terrible loss for you but clearly you two were closely bonded and you will never lose that.

I'm sorry to hear about Sherry's passing. She was a manager and colleague of mine years ago at Computerworld where she headed up the sales team. I have fond memories of her laugh and spirit and a specific memory of spending September 10th, 2001 with her in New York. We were at a charity golf tournament with clients and went to the airport to fly home to Boston that night but it was pouring rain so our flight (and most flights were canceled). We changed our flight to one that would leave NYC (Laguardia) the morning of September 11th and fly up to Boston. As we looked for hotels in NYC to get ready for our flight the next day, Sherry said "I actually need to be in Boston for a morning meeting tomorrow that I can't miss- this isn't going to work" - so we rented a van and I drove us home, arriving in Boston very late the night of September 10th. On this drive we laughed and ate fast food and tried to stay awake. The next morning I returned the van to the rental car place at Logan airport only to find out later it was the same time some of the hijackers were returning rentals. Later that day, I was exhausted in the office and Sherry didn't seem tired at all when we heard the news of the planes hitting the towers....we pulled a TV into our sales area and we both thought about how crazy it was that we were supposed to be flying that day and that if Sherry wasn't so insistent on making her meetings, our flight probably never would have left NYC or would have passed the hijacked planes at some point in the air. It was a bonding experience for us. She was a passionate, funny person who helped shape the early part of my career.

The prettiest face, the twinkle in her her eyes , her laughing smile, the sound of her laughter, will always be in my heart. And trying to keep up with our daughters..

I first met Sherry (or Newman as she was known to me) our freshman year at Keuka College. A beautiful and vivacious girl with a very distinct Boston accent. Very smart and a lot of fun. We spent the summer of 1969 as part of Keuka´s KWES program which was a 6 week summer program for academic credit and an additional 6 weeks where we traveled Europe. Colleen Scully from the Class of 1971 traveled with us. Great experience.
Sherry was my roommate senior year. Lost track of her for decades and then she came to Keuka for a reunion and spent subsequent reunions with me and Sheryl (Henshaw) Welch. Always had a had a great time! Always had a great story or two. It was fun to recall things about our college years from our different perspectives and memories. She made hats for me, Sheryl, Sue Kelts and herself with decorations from our Keuka experiences. Sheryl and I got to meet Don and he put up with the 3 of us for a weekend. She wasn´t able to attend last year, but was there in spirit. I will miss our conversations and the texts and emails with recipes and places to visit in central New York State that Sheryl and I will try to visit for her.

Trips to Eleuthera Bahamas and house boating in Canada. Epic.
