Sherri Watson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 23, 2024.
Sherri Jo Watson, 62, of Stephens City, Virginia, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 16, 2024, after her ongoing battle with cancer.

Sherri was born on December 13, 1961, and was a proud graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS Class of 1980). Described by those who knew her as selfless, caring, funny, kind, and generous, Sherri was a person whose presence and optimism brought light and laughter into the lives of many. Her hobbies included traveling, capturing moments - and food - through photography, shopping, crafting, dining at her favorite restaurants, and, above all, spending quality time with her family. She was a devout Christian who found inspiration in the teachings of Charles Stanley, John Hagee, and Joyce Meyer and enjoyed reading her Daily Bread. Sherri dedicated over 40 years of her life to serving the Federal government, with her final years spent working for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as a Program Specialist.

Sherri is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Jo Webster (Matt Solomon); son, Tyler J. Watson (Amanda); mother, Gloria J. Auman; grandsons, John & Patrick Webster; brother, Robert L. Auman (Virginia); and extended family in various parts of the US. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred E. Auman.

A service to celebrate Sherri's life will be held at Parklawns Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum in Chambersburg, PA on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sherri's memory may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, which provided her with exceptional care during her final days. Sherri's legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire and influence everyone who knew her.

I am saddened by the loss of Sherri. Her mother Gloria and her aunt Marilyn are first cousins to my mom Juanita. These photos are from 2011 when we met them in person for the first time. Sherri fought this cancer so hard. She will truly be missed. RIP cousin

I want to express my heartfelt sympathy to your entire family. Sherri has been such a valiant warrior as she faced many health issues. Her love for her family was first and foremost. From my homeroom buddy in high school to reconnecting over the last few years...she will be missed. Til we meet again!

I can´t choose a favorite, but one of the coolest things we did together was drive on the Salt Flats in Utah. She had an excellent time doing donuts on the salt in the rental car! I will truly miss our adventures together. I love you, always
