Sherry Ann Barnes

Sherry Ann (Gaga) Barnes, aged 69, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in Pearl City, IL. Born on July 19, 1955, Sherry was a beacon of love and kindness, profoundly impacting everyone she encountered.

Sherry graduated from Carl Schurz High School and dedicated her career to event coordination. After retiring, she became a devoted caregiver to her grandchildren and nieces, infusing their lives with the same warmth and love she brought to all her endeavors.

Sherry's life was rich with personal connections. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Barnes; her mother, Vivian-June Carroll Williams; her son, Lou (Nicole) Scornavacco; her stepdaughter, Michelle (Roy) Mimler; her sister, Cathy (Darrel) Walczyk; and her brother, John (Kim) Williams. Sherry's joy was multiplied by her grandchildren, Alyssa Scornavacco, Logan, Kayla, and Steven Mimler, and by her nieces Caitlin & Aimee, nephews Nick, Seth & Justin & great-nieces Anni & Ellie, and great-nephew Kade & sibling in laws Mary Sue, Donna, Christy, Rosanne & Thomas. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil (Gene) Williams, and sisters-in-law, Patricia and Shelia.

Sherry's home was always filled with the aroma of her cooking and the sound of music, reflecting her passions for baking, hosting, and decorating, especially during the holidays. Her love for classic movies and talk shows also provided countless hours of enjoyment and relaxation.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at her and Mike's home in Pearl City, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Sherry's honor, continuing her legacy of care and support.
