So sad that we were not able to be with all of Sherrrys family on Monday. She will never be forgotten.

Our hearts go out to the Saxe family. We were neighbors since the kids were small, and even after their move to the high desert always remained friends. When our homes burnt down we lived in the same complex as our houses were being rebuilt. Sherry will be greatly missed, she touched alot of lives during her life. She did everything she could for her kids and grandkids, whom she loved dearly! Gary, I know your life will never be the same, but you'll have such great memories to get you through this. We always enjoyed our time together with you guys, camping, riding the trails or just hanging out! Our thoughts are with each of you!

I have known Sherry Saxe ever since I became part of the Taylor family decades ago. As a native Chicagoan I left behind most of my immediate family to come to California where my grandma and grandpa had chosen to retire. After they passed away, along with my great aunts and uncles, my children and I were warmly welcomed into the Saxe, Newell, and Taylor families and have enjoyed an endless number of family celebrationsbirthdays, Easters, Christmases, Thanksgivings, and, yes, Halloweens!
Sherry was tirelessly devoted to her family, and her life was focused on making every family event as full of memories as possible. She made sure that each of those memories was documented by photos, videos, and /or keepsakes. Sherry adored her grandchildren, enthusiastically sharing with them her passion for nature, history, traditions and friends. She was always planning their next adventure together, and for as long as I can remember, was somehow able to organize celebrations so that grand kids on the east coast and grand-kids on the west coast never felt forgotten or left out. Things became even more complicated for her when the Taylor grandchildren moved to Oregon, but she and Gary were undaunted, and somehow arranged their schedule so as not to miss birthdays or special occasions.
Sherry also devoted much of her time and energy to helping others through her caring, compassion, and talentsmost notably her love of horticulture. She has traveled miles and miles for years and years from the high desert to the valley to enrich the lives of seniors and share with them her expertise and passion for plants. As a granddaughter and daughter I know full well how incredibly lonely and painful it can be for the elderly when they are no longer able to live on their own. Sherry made it her mission to brighten their lives. And I am positive that they will always remember her enthusiasm and charismatic personality, as will I.
In Loving Memory of Sherry Saxe,
Sandy Taylor, Co-grandparent of Heather, Jared, and Christopher Taylor
