'Tis your birthday today, P. Over the years I've always called you on this date to review the year's doings. Now this will have to do instead. Ironic that it is only now that I have finally moved from Saskatoon to BC but am unable to visit in the usual manner. Rest assured, m'dear, you are always remembered - with a fond smile.

Mom. I have so much to tell you. I have so much... love... for you. I was unable to come to your memorial event. I am very sorry for that. I miss you so very much. Thanks to Brian, we finally got to see each other after over 20 years. I thought a new life, a happier one for us, had just begun. It is difficult to have no regrets.
