Dear All Family and Friends gathered at Shirley's life Celebration:

We are the cousins from afar as in New Delhi, India - and would add these few words as you celebrate Shirley's full and exemplary life.

We were wonderfully blessed to know and love Shirley not only as a cousin but as a good friend over these many years. We were also blessed to have a beautiful visit with Shirley and other cousins this past summer in Victoria, when we were on leave from India - and were looking forward to our next visit - next summer when we return to settle in Victoria. Sadly - that will not be for Shirley and us but we hope to see the family.

Chris, Michael and Heather and the grandkids - our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sadness. But you will have wonderful, happy memories to share -as do we.

One memory for us is the many May 24th holiday weeekends that we spent with the cuz's from the big city (Vancouver)led of course by the oldest being David. A bit later came Shirley and over these many years we have had great, laughter filled, and serious conversation visits in Victoria, Vancouver, North Delta, and Prince George - some of those occasions when we laid our own parents to rest.

Wish we could be there today to help celebrate Shirley's wonderful life - lived to the full.

God Bless You All!

Edna's thoughts and mine will be reflecting on Shirley's memory during the hour of her memorial service, even though we are a few thousand miles away.

I (Lloyd) still recall, as a young fellow, hearing the stories about how the youth groups and congregations at Fairview Baptist and Chalmers United got together temporarily during a Fairview church construction project. If memory serves me right, David was president of the combined youth group and Shirley was the smartest, best looking woman there. And the rest is history.

Their lives have been an example of the best of commitment to each other, to family and to the church and the community. We had looked forward to getting to know Shirley again if, in due course, we moved back to BC in the next year or two. While there is a fair chance that the move will take place, that reacquaintanceship will not, to our regret.

We are thinking of Michael, Heather and Chris at this time, trusting that they will draw strength from their memory of Shirley.

Blessings,

Lloyd and Edna

Michael, Chris and family...you won't remember me as I haven't seen you in many years. I (Mary Mackey) am a cousin of your father's. This summer on two occasions we had wonderful visits with your mother and really enjoyed our time together. I am very thankful for those memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time and for the days ahead.
