Shirl, I have so many happy memories of you and Muff and Art...Christmas breakfasts, summers at the pool, baking (and eating) cookies. I learned so much from all of you and no amount of time past or distance can erase you from my heart. Heaven gained a new angel to watch over those of us that you left behind. Give your parents a big hug for me. Barb you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I stood next to Shirl in bell practice. She was always in a hurry to get to her next obligation. She was a busy person. She loved her church work. I will miss her. I send prayers to family.

I loved our visits to New Jersey to see your loving father and mother in the 1980s. It was wonderful to see my mother with her brother, Art, on those trips that held so much meaning for her. The deep love and bond that existed between all of you was so beautiful. You are in our hearts.

Shirl and I were Alpha Delta Pi sorority sisters at Wittenberg University. I considered her one of my dearest college friends. Shirl was just the definition of the word positive and knowing her made my life better. I have so many happy, funny, and loving memories of Shirl during our years together at Witt. Some of my best life memories are of our wacky and wonderful Florida Spring Break trip of senior year. Just imagine going to Disney World with Shirl. I can still hear her giggling and see her beaming face.
With much love,

What a beautiful person! I mean at that time (1972-73?), my kindergarten teacher was the first person outside my home that I spent any significant amount of time with and I am so thankful that I was blessed to be one of her students at Reilly Elementary. She was very special. May the Lord comfort you with many blessed memories.

I taught with Shirl in Salem for several years. She was a dedicated and passionate teacher who was willing to try new strategies and methods to help her students succeed. Thank you Shirl, for teaching so much to so many

I'm so sad to hear of my first cousin Shirl's passing. We were on opposite coasts our entire lives and I'm sorry I never really met Shirl except by way of her proud dad when he visited my mom, Art's sister, Cecelia O'Rourke. Life passes quickly Shirl is at peace now. Take comfort in your loving family.
