Shirley Lorraine Bowers of Baltimore, Maryland departed this earthly life to go to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023 at the age of 86; just four days shy of turning 87. She was a resident of Complete Care of Severna Park, MD after suffering a stroke in 2022. She was born in Giles County, Virginia on Dec. 19, 1936 to the late Edward Lee Wilburn, Sr. and Dollie Mae Wilburn (Vaughn). She married Bobby Lee Bowers, Sr. at an early age and moved to Maryland where they raised their family of five children. She was widowed in Oct. 2013. She Leaves to cherish her memory - one daughter Nancy Ann and her husband Robert Reusing; four sons, Bobby Lee Bowers, Jr. and his wife Marie, Charles David Bowers, Sr. and his wife Isabelle, Gerry Alan Bowers and his widow wife Teri, and Gerald Wayne Bowers and his wife Cheryl; ten grandchildren, Paul Edward Reusing and wife Stacie, Patricia Ann and her husband Brandon Miller, Sue Ann Bowers, Bobby Lee Bowers III, Jennifer Lynn Bowers, Charles David Bowers, Jr. and wife Ashley, James Robert Bowers and wife Rhonda, Britney Edna and husband Robert Davis, Morgan Lynn and husband Joshua Peterson, and Sara Lorraine Bowers; fourteen great grandchildren, Austin Edward Reusing, Cody Blake Reusing, Kayleigh Brianna Bowers, Anthony Michael Bowers, Abigail Yvonne Pemberton-Bowers, Addison Grace Miller, Zachary Bryan Guerra-Bowers, Lillian Mary Bowers, Leland Christopher Taylor, Emma Grace Miller, Jenna Lynn Peterson, Lorelei Rae Davis, Levi Mark Peterson, and Evelyn Rose Bowers; and four step-great grandchildren, Tyler Reed Kness-Miller, Anthony Pearson, Ryan Moorman, and Sophia Davis. Shirley is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In Addition to her husband and parents, Shirley is predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law Phyllis Jean and Howard Benjamin Bowers, brother and sister-in-law Edward Lee Wilburn, Jr. and Betty Lou; and eight half sisters and brothers.
Family and friends may gather at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Halethorpe, MD 21227 for a public visitation on Tuesday, December 19 from 3:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.
