Shirley Rochelle Braun, aged 97; cherished daughter of the late Bessie and Hyman Singer; devoted wife of 71 years to Jerry Braun; beloved mother of Bonnie Hoffman, Howard (Jan), Sheldon (Lynn), and Claudia Braun; beloved mother-in-law of Michael Hoffman and Gerry Berman; adored grandmother of Josh Berman (Amy Ornée), Jamie (Andrew) Schiffman, Mackie Berman (Joe Grant), Erin (Bobby) Loder, Aaron (Risa) Braun, Michael (Natalia) Braun, Julie Meadors, Steven (Chen) Braun, Emily Braun, Jen (Nate) Miller, Haley (Josh) Lelah, and Wes (Chelsea) Braun; loving great grandmother of Maddie, Naomi, David, Lilly, Ella, Phillip, Liam, Adva, Jonathan, Adam, Romi, Zoey, Mason, Eliana, Rafael, Levi, Benny, Morrie, Dezi and Zev, dear sister of the late Mildred (George) Spero, Sylvia (Morrie) Bloom, Phyllis (Melvin) Ruder, Ira (Goldye) Singer and Olive Singer; sister in law of the late Irving (Tibey) Braun, Estelle (Dave) Abod, Mark Braun, and Marilyn (Herb) Mazer. Shirley was a beautiful, radiant soul whose smile could light up a room and embraced everyone she met. She had a rare gift; a true ability to make every person feel loved, seen and deeply special. Services Thursday (8/21) 11a.m. West Suburban Temple Har Zion, 1040 N. Harlem Ave., River Forest. Interment Jewish Oakridge Cemetery, Hillside.
