Shirley M. Clark 1931 - 2017
NEW HARTFORD - On Friday, August 4, 2017, Shirley Marshall Clark was reunited with her beloved Norm, passing away peacefully at the Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center in New Hartford.
Shirley was born in Utica, November 16, 1931, daughter of Leon and Mae Dolphin Marshall. She graduated from Utica Catholic Academy in 1949 and spent her work career employed at several area banks, retiring in 1997.
On June 12, 1965, Shirley married Norman J. Clark, a devoted union of 40 years until his death on April 4, 2005. Their years together were filled with good friends, enjoying the outdoors and traveling.
Shirley had a zest for life, including love of family, friends and all animals, whether they were her beloved pets or outside her window. She was devoted to her faith, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and proud of her Irish heritage.
Surviving are her many beloved nieces and nephews; in-laws, Maureen and Jim O'Hara and Elaine Clark; and a group of special lifelong friends. Shirley was predeceased by two sisters and their husbands, Mary Rose and Robert Campbell and Beverly and Paul Nichols, and brother-in-law, Peter Clark.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, August 7th, from 6-8 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Road, Utica. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 8th, at 10 a.m. from St. Thomas Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Shirley's name may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society.
