Arlene and I just learned of Aunt Shirley's passing. We're been living in Regina for last 7+ years and don't follow much Calgary news any more. We send our condolences to Margaret and Patsy, Herb and the girls. We wish you every strength in dealing with your loss. It doesn't hardly seem like any time ago we were at Russell & Shirley's 50th anniversary. That was a great party and a wonderful celebration of the life that Russell and Shirley had together. I remember Aunt Shirley as a warm and big-hearted woman with a ready laugh. She was generous to a fault. She seemed to worry more about those around her than she did about herself. I hope and expect that Russ will be able to draw strength and comfort from their long and eventful life together.

It is with heavy hearts that we accept the passing of Auntie Shirley. As active kids, busy teen agers and young adults with growing families, we take for granted our arms length relatives and rarely get together except for special occassions.
We are thankfull that we were able to spend considerable time with Shirley and Uncle Russ over the past few years. As her obituary discloses, we discovered that Shirley was quite a character with a capacity to care about the people in her life as well as those she had not yet met. Together, they shared a passion for nature and longed to re-experience the happiness they once had at a Bearspaw acreage property.
We offer Patsy and Margrette our heart felt condolenses. As we now live in Manitoba, we regret that we could not make the memorial but Shirley will be on our minds tomorrow and for some time to come.

Russ and Family,
My most sincere condolensces on your loss of Shirley. She was truly one of the finer ladies that I had the pleasure of dealing with at our pharmacies.
I trust many fond memories will ease some pain at this most difficult time.
