Shirley Patrick Young Douglas

Shirley was the love of my life. In the short time I knew her she showed a nobility and grace that belied her rural upbringing. She was comfortable in all levels of society, but most proud of her Kentucky heritage. She loved children with an intensity that is difficult to fully explain and all children responded to that love. She also loved dogs and they too quickly knew she was a friend. The world is a lesser place without her.
