Journey, Shirley A., 78, passed away November 28, 2016. She worked for Southwestern Bell where she had 35 years of perfect attendance as an operator and fraud investigator. After retiring, she was an active member of the Pioneer Retirement Club at Southwestern Bell. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by parents, Loyal and Rhoda Temple; and 9 siblings. Shirley is survived by husband of 48 years, Dean Journey; son, Matthew (Michele) Journey; daughter, Cheryl (Rex) Hoskins; sisters, Aloma Piland, Virginia Staley, and Leona Cheever; grandchildren, Myles and Legend Journey, Crystal Grunden, Justin Gallardo, and Stephanie Doshier; great grandchildren, Jaylen and Jeren Gallardo and Lydia Doshier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Shirley's passing. Wish I could have been at the services. My mom (Joyce; Aunt Shirley's ex sister in law that was married to Shirley's youngest sibling, Richard) passed away on December 13, 2016, right after Aunt Shirley. My mom always loved her. The staff at Second Hand Rose just learned of your loss. We are so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing! Shirley was such a sweet woman and we enjoyed getting to know her and seeing the "treasures" she found in the shop! Enjoyed that she brought the grandkids in with her!

Dean, Cheryl, Matt ~
Shirley & I worked together in the MIC (fraud) dept at SWB. She was always joyful, full of mischief & shared her love for her family with us. She was very proud of her children & as the grandchildren came along, they were high on her list of sharing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Another ray of sunshine has left this earth.
