Mrs. Shirley M. Kent

Shirley M. Kent, 78, of Ocala, passed away December 27, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Kent was born January 17, 1930 in Miami, FL and lived there until 1994 when she moved to Ocala. She graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1948 and attended business school for a year. When her youngest son was in high school she went to work as a clerk and then secretary at E.W.F. Stirrup Elementary School in Miami until retiring in 1992. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert E. Marx and second husband, George Ajhar. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert J. Kent; sons, Daniel Marx and wife, Peggy of Albany, GA, Robert E. Marx of Key Largo, FL, Edward L. Marx and wife, Marie of Cooper City, FL and Ronald D. Marx and wife Rhonda of Tallahassee, FL; step-daughter, Patricia Conner Stewart, FL; 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Whitney, Courtney, and Meaghan Marx and Michelle and Melissa Conner. A Memorial Service will be held at ROBERTS FUNERAL HOMES, Downtown Chapel (606 SW 2nd Ave., Ocala 622-4141) on Friday (January 2nd) at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Marion County PO Box 4860 Ocala, Fl 34478.
