LEGARE _ Shirley Jo 1941 - 2007 Shirley Legare (nee Swanson) passed away suddenly on April 30, 2007 at the age of 66 years. A native Calgarian, Shirley loved to share a laugh with her family and many, many friends. Shirley enjoyed cards, Bingo, crossword puzzles, reading and working with numbers. Shirley was a caring mother, sister, grandmother and aunt who valued family time, cherishing every opportunity afforded her. Shirley was a selfless, unpretentious woman who could start a conversation with practically anyone. Shirley worked most of her life as an accounts payable clerk until she retired from Univar at the age of sixty-three. Shirley took pride in her work and is remembered amongst her co-workers for her strong work ethic. Shirley is lovingly remembered by her sons, Barry (Carol) Stonehouse and Tony Stonehouse; her grandchildren, Douglas, Jon, Jesse and Audrey; her nieces, Michelle, Kelly (Corey) and Becky; her nephews, Mike, Stewart (Erin), Bob Jr. and the mother of her two grandchildren, Shelley. Shirley is survived by her sister Lorrie Owen and her brother Larry (Donna) Swanson. Shirley is predeceased by her brother Bob and her mother and father, Lola and Alvin. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Rockyview ICU for their tireless efforts and support provided during this difficult time. A Service will be held Monday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME (304 - 18 Avenue S.W.). In lieu of flowers, donate to one of Shirley's many charities: AB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Parkinson Society of AB or the Calgary Health Trust (Rockyview ICU Unit).
