Shirley Nassauer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 5, 2012.
Nassauer, Shirley Mae Age 85, of St. Louis Park, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on March 4, 2012. She lived through the end of her life with courage and grace. Born September 27th, 1926 to Isaac and Rose Diamond in Minot, North Dakota, Shirley was the youngest of 4 children. She moved to Minneapolis when she was 19 years old and met her future husband, Manfred, at her place of employment, Silent Sales. After leaving Silent Sales and spending time as a homemaker, she was employed as a Supervisor for Graphics Services, Inc. for two years and later as an Administrative Assistant in the Legal Department at General Mills for 19 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sarah; and brothers, Norman and Jerome. She is survived by her loving husband, Fred and sons, Kerry and Rob and their families: Kerry's daughter, Taylor, and son, Tyson, and Rob's wife, Joan, daughters, Mae and Sarah, and Sarah's husband, Jerome Tagger and great granddaughter, Aida Layla Tagger. She was a beautiful woman, a wonderful wife, and a loving and unconditionally supportive mother. She was a fun-loving person with a playful sense of humor who enjoyed baking and playing games such as Mahjong, Canasta and Scrabble. She is adored by many family and friends, including the family of brother Norman (deceased) and Barbara Diamond, nephew Richard Diamond, deceased, (Lee), and nieces Deborah Diamond (Elizabeth Boutin), Pam Diamond (Michael Brenner), Patty Diamond (John Wheeler) and many great-nieces and nephews, cousin Walter (deceased) and Anita Blum and their daughter, Jeanette (George Pappas), and son Steven (Julie), and nephew, Michael Greengard (Marilyn). Her home with "Freddy" was a place of warm hospitality treasured by a wide circle of extended family and friends. We thank Tammie Nyman and Allina Hospice Services for their wonderful care. Fritz, Kerry & Rob,

We are all so sorry to hear of cousin Shirley's passing. Casey and I remember all the happy times we shared when you came to Minot. I will try to see you tomorrow at Shiva however I am having trouble clearing my schedule. Your Mom was very special to all of us. Casey is in Marshall and Terry is a principal
of a K-12 in Cyprus. My parents loved spending time with yours when they moved here to the Cities. Cousin Shirley will be remembered by all of us.

All our love and condolences,
Casey, Carol Beth, Jimmy Grais, and our children Tammi and Jason, and Terry Diamond and Robin Kaiserman
