Shirley Rooker Obituary
She was born on October 2, 1935 in Putnam County to Fred Lukenbill and Nellie Cox Lukenbill.
Shirley was a 1953 graduate of Bainbridge High School.
Mrs. Rooker was a member of Bainbridge Christian Church and attended New Maysville Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter Tiffany Mauk and great-grandson Robert Cade Mauk; and a brother Charles E. Lukenbill.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert H. Rooker; five children, Rusa Rogers of North Salem, Robin Lambermont and husband Jim of Troy, Missouri, George Huber of Rockville, Richard Rooker of Bainbridge, and Recco Rooker and wife DeeAnn of Bainbridge; three brothers, Bill Lukenbill and wife Pat of Brownsburg, Marion Lukenbill and wife Betty of Brownsburg, and Keith Lukenbill and wife Dot of Greencastle; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11 AM at Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Bainbridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Shirley loved spending time with her family, cooking and flower gardening.

Thinking of all you during this difficult time and wish I could be there to remember Shirley in person. I'll always remember her fabulous sense of humor and sense of caring/compassion that is so rare. She will be dearly missed.
