Tony, Dennis, and Joel: so sorry for your loss. I remember your mom as such a nice lady. Always smiling and joking. Needless to say a spitfire! Although we haven't seen each other for some time, I have wonderful memories of when we were kids. Thinking of you. And sooo sorry this so late. Tracy Andersen McVey and the Jim Andersen family

I'm sorry to learn of Shirley's passing. She was so good to my boys. She was a wonderful woman. I'm proud to have known her. I saw her some weeks ago at Regency. She remembered me immediately, and we had a nice conversation. I know you will miss her.

Tony, Dennis and Joel,
You may not remember me but my family lived two doors down from your family on 11th avenue and I was your babysitter - Connie Fraley. I occasionally called your Mother when I visited back there after moving to South Carolina where my family lives today. On a couple of occasions, many years ago, I stopped by to see her. I often think of you boys (yes, you will always be 'boys' to me) and recall when Joel was born and your Mom called me shortly after bringing him home and said - come down here so I can show you how to take care of the baby so you can stay with him. I was taking care of him when he fell and busted his lip open. Had to meet your Mom at the hospital with him and I know I cried harder than he did as they stitched up his lip. I know it's been a number of years since I last called your Mom but it's not that I haven't fondly remembered her and all of you on numerous occasions. I know you have many wonderful memories and hope those give you peace and comfort at this time. My love and prayers are with you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She was a WONDERFUL childcare provider and gave me advice when I started my own daycare almost 30 years ago. I will always be grateful to her for that. May she rest in peace.

God's peace to all of you. Shirley is so fondly thought of and remembered here at the Family Place Child Care Center. We recently were looking through old photos and came upon her in the class pictures. What a treasure and blessing she was to the babies and all of us. May you each find comfort in your wonderful memories of this special lady.

Tony, Dennis and Joel: we are so sorry for your loss. Shirley was a wonderful neighbor and second mother to the many children she cared for. I always remember at night after the last of the children were gone and after dinner she had her book, a drink and relaxed in a lawn chair on your patio. That was pretty much a night relaxation routine for her and some nights I could find my own mom over visiting. Great memories of her and the old neighborhood. She touched many, many lives.
