SHIRLEY SQUIRES

Shirley Ann Squires, 85, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away August 20, 2012, in her home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church, Excelsior Springs. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. Shirley was born in Hannibal, Mo., on Aug. 20, 1927, to Fern and James Curtis. She graduated from Hannibal High School and later attended Hannibal LaGrange College. She worked as Office Manager for Scherer Truck Equipment in Kansas City, Mo., for more than 25 years. She and her husband A.G. Squires, Jr. were avid travelers and were members of the Holiday Ramblers Organization. Shirley was a member of the Barbee Memorial Presbyterian Church and a P.E.O. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, A.G. Squires, Jr. and brother, Gene Curtis of Quincy, Ill. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gil and Susan Squires, grandchildren, Cate and A.G. Squires of Kansas City.
