Shirley Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 11 to Aug. 12, 2018.
Shirley Delores Williams (Boots) September 30 1928- August 7 2018. Boots passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at the LaCour House in New Roads, Louisiana. Boots enjoyed traveling the world, working crosswords, the LSU tigers and spending time with her family. Boots joined Fidelity bank at the age of 19. She took time off from the bank in 1948 for the birth of her two children. She returned to the bank in 1952 for 36 years until she retired in March 1988. She was a longtime volunteer for Cancer services and an avid member of the Chapel on the campus church. Boots was the most capable and independent woman, someone who truly inspired you. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her. A special thanks to Pointe Coupee Hospice, Gladys Wright and all who have given their hand to help care for her. She is survived by her son, Robert Williams and wife Marleny, Costa Rica; daughter Rebecca (Becki) Berthier and husband Paul, Glynn; granddaughter, Story Berthier, Baton Rouge; brother Wayne Story and wife Margaret, Virginia; nieces and nephews Peter Story and wife Pam, Texas; Wheat Teller and husband Todd, Tennessee and Amy Woodard, Virginia. Great nieces and nephews Ethan Story; Land, Emme, Beckett and John Wallace Teller; Ryan and Ian Woodard; cousin Joann Crain, Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents Pauline and Wheat Story. She requested to be donated to the LSU school of research in New Orleans. There will be a private service held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Pointe Coupee Hospice.
