Shirley Lillian Wood (nee Uyhelyi) was born on January 13, 1927, in Chester, New York, USA. She passed away on January 18, 2018, in Norfolk, VA, at the age of 90.
Shirley was a long-time member of the Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood, NJ, where she was active in many aspects of church life.
Shirley along with her husband Duncan were avid bird watchers and traveled to many locations around the world in this pursuit.
She was also an avid quilter and taught lessons in her community in her later years.
Shirley and her husband were active in Boy Scouts and have been remembered fondly for their commitment to the growth of others.
After her husband passed in 1989, she moved to Mechanicsville Md and enjoyed her life in her country home and garden until her passing.
She is survived by her son Douglas Wood of Roanoke VA.
