Sidney Lowe Obituary

Sidney Edward Lowe, Sr., 92, of 681 Tulls Creek Road, Moyock, N.C, died Saturday, Aug. 7, at his residence. Born in Norfolk, Va., he was the son of the late Dennis Crowder and Wilkie Taylor Lowe and was the husband of the late Rosa Lee Sanderson Lowe. Mr. Lowe had worked as a crane operator at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Moyock United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Mr. Lowe was actively involved with the Boy Scouts and Cubs Scouts and had belonged to the Order of the Arrow. He was a member of the Moyock Ruritan Club and the New Lebanon Masonic Lodge 314 AF&AM. Mr. Lowe is survived by his daughters, Sharon L. Turlington and husband Donald of Cary, N.C., and Amy D. Hixon and husband Dane of Castle Rock, Colo.; a son, Sidney E. Lowe Jr. and wife Carolyn of Moyock, N.C.; grandchildren, Sgt. Joshua Turlington and Danielle Hixon; and his great-grandson, Dylan Turlington. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia L. North; two sisters; and four brothers. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Labre Indian School, P.O. Box 216, Ashland, Mont. 59003; Union Mission Ministries, P.O. Box 3203, Norfolk, Va. 23514; or to Silent Unity Telephone Prayer Ministry, 1901 NW Blue Parkway, Unity Village, Mo. 64065. Twiford Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 405 E.
