Lisa -- I send you my love and sympathy. If your mom and my mom have met each other in heaven, there is a BIG PARTY going on right now. Big! and HAPPY!

Lisa,

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember the days in which we were both single. I would drive over to you and your Mom's apartment. Your Mom would tell us hilarious stories and include impersonations before we went out. Even though you have lived in Edinburgh for many years, I still think of your Mom when I drive to Rockville and cross E Jefferson. I wish you, Jennifer, and Adrienne (?) the best. From my recollections and others' memories, I think it is safe to say your Mother will never be forgotten.

With Sympathy,

Karen

Today I am saddened to hear of the death of my dear friend and confidant Silvia Fields. Having known and loved her for 10 years, she has been an inspiration to me and many of my clients. There is a special place in heaven for Silvia and I will forever greatful for her support. I have never met a more witty, sharp, patient person as Silvia. When I spoke to her last, she said she would beat cancer and call me when she was ready to work again! I will miss Silvia terribly and always remember the lunches we shared.

Lisa,
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Although I don't recall meeting your mom, it sounds like she was the source of your gift of great humor and joie de vivre. I hope you are comforted by many happy memories.

I knew Lisa in high school. If her sense of humor was any indication you must've been a blast. Lisa I'm so sorry for your loss.

Silvia was the most brilliant, funny, person I have ever known in my life. Far from not having had peace in her life, she absolutely bathed in peace, self assurance and a very healthy morality. All of these blessings, topped off by her hugely urbane sense of humor, made for a truly unique being. There is now a veritable hole in my heart which can never be filled.

I hope I never forget the sound of Silvia's voice. She had such a singular embrace of the world, and she was so full of life and honesty that poured out through sweet chidings, great laughs, and very perceptive thoughts. Silvia, like her Tia Mimi, embraced the renowned spunk of her PENA-DIAZ ancestors. My heartfelt condolences go to Lisa, Jennifer, Adrienne and their families as they abide through this sad and difficult passing.

"We don't have idioms in Cuba," ...
I am eternally grateful to Silvia, not only for her three excellent daughters, not only for her daughter Jennifer without whom I would find it difficult to live myself, but for being hilarious, adorable, temperamental, brilliant, and tenacious. The world is poorer without her. My heart goes out to Jennifer, Lisa, and Adrienne.

Love is kind; it does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud, it is not rude, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.--Corinthians

My 'Cuban mother' Mrs. Fields was one special woman and I will miss her dearly. Her charm and chutzpah were inspiring and having seen that photo - Wow! She was one hot young lady. My thoughts are with you, the daughters. All the love in the world. Friends forever. - Stephen Lennhoff

"Swearing is an art form. You can express yourself much more exactly, much more succinctly, with properly used curse words." Ms. Silvia, you ALWAYS knew the 'right' words... Will miss you dearly...
