Silvio Ciurleo August 13, 2022 Springfield Born Natale Giorgio in Martone, Reggio Calabria Italy to Giuseppe "Joe" and Marietta (Caristo) Ciurleo. Shortly after the death of his mother, Silvio immigrated to the United States settling in Queens NY until eventually coming to Springfield, MA where he met and married the love of his life, Sandra Loguidice. He served his nation proudly in the US Navy and went on to make a beautiful life with his wife and children. Besides his loving wife he is survived by his children Donna Cordeiro and her husband Mark, Janet Harbey and her husband William and his son Joseph Ciurleo. His brothers Vincent (Philomena), Ralph and Frank (Mary). His Brother-in-Arms Frank Fiorillo, Sisters-in-law Anita Vumbaco (Jimmy), Barbara Potter (Gene), Brothers-in-law James Loguidice (Brenda) and Robert Loguidice (Marilyn). He leaves to his memory 11 grandchildren David Harbey (Kristin), Nicole Khendek (Lyes), Ariana Harbey-Merced (Anthony), Christina Harbey, Charlie Harbey, Nico Cordeiro (Erica), Demi Cordeiro-Rodriguez (Alex), Victor, Marco, Tali and Joey Ciurleo. 8 great-grandchildren Dyllon and Emerson Harbey, Reign Merced, Yani Khendek, Reagan, Zylah, Lincoln and Verah Cordeiro. Silvio had many dear friends he adored, especially his buddies, Frank Stirlacci, Carm Capuano, Sammy Vatrano and John D'Agostino whom he loved as a son. As Uncle, he had many nieces and nephews he loved immensely. Silvio was predeceased by Parents Joseph, Marietta and Suzanna Ciurleo and his beloved granddaughter Christina. Silvio lived his life in service to God, his country and his family. We are all so grateful to have had him for such a length of time. Calling hours for Silvio will be held from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow, MA. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18th beginning at 8:45 AM at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Springfield, MA. Interment with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA.
