He will be greatly missed. He is survived by wife Susan, his sons Ted (Rya), Michael, and Dennis (Leah), grandchildren Hayley, Adisyn and Cruz, and by brothers: Bill (Mary), Neil, sisters Margaret Stephanson ( Butch), Greta Heinen ( Henry ) and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Jake and Peter. A memorial tea will be held at the Cherry Creek Community Halll on Friday February 13, 1:00 - 3:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favourite charity.

Dear Sue,
So sorry to hear of your loss. We just heard of Simon's passing tonight. It is sad to see such a fine man gone. We were so lucky to have known him, his smile will always be remembered. We always saw how much you meant to each other. Wish we would have been at his celebration of life.

It has come as a real shock tonight to hear of Simon's passing. It is hard to believe such a fine man is gone. So sorry for your loss, Sue. We always saw how much you meant to each other. Wish we could have been there for his celebration of life, but did not know of his passing. We hope the memories will help you get through these very hard times.

Dear Sue and family: It has been our priviledge to have been a part of your family albeit as parents in law since that beautiful union of Leah and Dennis at Milner Gardens> We have enjoyed family time since that day when the eagle soared over those great kids of ours as they said their vows. I will always remember Simon's hearty laugh and fun spirit and the love in his eyes for his 'girl'. You, Sue were the light of his life! We share our sympathy and we'll miss Simon's presence. He will not be forgotten.. we shall set a place at the table for this noble man at our next gathering. I am grateful for my wonderful awesome son in law, Dennis and thank you both for your awesome son.
Cruz, our shared grandson, will always be reminded of this wonderful Grandpa who has passed on. As he grows older I am sure we will see sweet traits of his departed Grandpa.
Sue, Ted, Mike and Dennis, our love and support for you is without end. May Simon rest in peace.

Sue and Family, I am so very sad to hear of Simon's passing. I have very fond memories of the time he worked with my Dad, Egon Matheson, and the enduring friendship that they had. My heart and thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.
