Dr. Ward was a modern day Rennaissance man. We met in 1986 and he delivered my second son. I was a bit hesitant at first, when my wife, Katie Moriarity Rubin, switched Dr's to go to Dr. Ward in her 4th month but he won me over instantly with his charm, smarts and amazing calm. He led such a fantastic life that when I was doing radio shows on interesting people and places in and around the New Orleans area on WWL, he was the only one I did a 2 part show on!! From humble beginnings that he never forgot, he crafted a well lived (and loved) life and he will always be in our memories and thoughts. His son, Sandy, followed us to Charlotte and continues to take care of my wife til this day.
Our thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

Dr. Ward began taking care of me at the age of 13. He was a terrific man and excellent physician. He delivered my husband in 1948 and my daughter in 1978.
I worked with him for a brief period of time as a LPN. He was a definite influence on my life. My sincerest condolences to his wife and family.
Sincerely,
Carol Ewens Roule

When I first met Dr. Ward in 1948 he was still wearing his Navy kakis. He delivered our seven daughters at Baptist Hospital. He was out of town when my wife went into labor for one of the later ones and my wife was frantic, but he arrived just in time to make the delivery. May he rest in peace.

Dr. Ward was a wonderful person, he helped me to conceive my beautiful and beloved daughter 27 years ago. When his name is mentioned in surrounding towns everyone has great things to say of him, he will be truly missed by all.

Dear Si I will always remember your father for his humor and wit. He was a great example for us in the N.O OB/GYN communiity of what a dedicated physician should be. May he rest in peace.

I was a new expectant mother, nervous, and he made me feel calm, delivered my beautiful daughters, and took wonderful care also of my sister, and I will always remember his kindness and reverence to his own family. P.S. Dr. Ward was recommended to me by my wonderful Mother-in-Law "Ms. Joy", who also was cared for by Dr. Ward.

I was Dr. Ward's nurse at Seller and Sanders Clinic in the early 60's but he greatly influenced me when he taught OB-Gyn to nursing students at BaptistHospital School of Nursing. At that point, I adamately statedthat "I want to be his nurse some day." It was a dream come true and he was the kindest doctor and boss that I have ever known. My thoughts and prayers are for his family at this time. I enjoyed seeing his son again in the 90's when he delivered my grandchildren in Charlotte, NC.

My 20 year old daughter was deliveredby Dr. Ward in 1988 and i am convinced she was his 8,000th baby. He was a great doctor and he will be missed by many.I was a nurse at Sellers and Sanders Clinic {I was Ted Dampeer's nurse} and worked for and near him for 13 years. I remember being in surgery with him one time and I said OH,OH for some reason and he told me that's a word we never say in the operating room. He also taught me to cut sutures left-handed.I miss my days at Sellers and Sanders.I hope Dr. Ward's family know how much he was loved. Thanks for sharing him with us.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Ward's passing. He was my Dr. in Port Sulphur for many years, and delivered my 30 year old son. He was one of the sweetest, kindest people ever. They don't make 'em like him anymore. I have his book "From Carolina to Louisiana and Back" and enjoy reading from it over and over. May God Bless and Comfort all of you during this time. Know that He will be never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Sincerely..

I just wanted your family to know how important Dr. Ward was to my family. In 1951, my mother, Norma Howard, had just found out that she was pregnant . A few weeks later she had appendicitis and your father removed her appendix and the rest of her pregnancy went fine. I am 56 years old now and thanks to Dr. Ward, I am still healthy.
He delivered my three daughters during the 70's and he even told me that if I tried for a boy and if it was another girl then he would not charge me. I was smart enough to stop at three.
I now live on the beautiful Ms. gulf coast and being a caregiver to many elderly people, I have had the privilage of meeting Dr.George Ward many times at MHG ER.
I know that you have lost your husband and father, but I also n\know that all of your wonderful memories will help you cope with his loss.

What a wonderful man. I will always be thankful for him allowing me to have a VBAC in 1980 when all others had told me it was impossible. I will remember him as a great doctor that really cared about his patient's feelings.
