Simone Begrand

I was very sad when I heard about Simone. I was away and when I found out, the prayers and the funeral were over. I am very sorry to have missed them. I have been avoiding writing my condolences because I didn't want to think about this wonderful, caring, giving, loving person leaving us. I worked with Simone at St.Marguerite when I was a Learning Assistance Teacher there. I also worked there years ago and I worked with Jeremy and Patrick. I remember them as such nice little boys. She talked about both of you and Elsa with so much love. My heart goes out to you Ray, and all the family. With the things Simone has had to struggle with, she remained a positive and energetic person, giving her best. She was kind and friendly. She was so great with all the children she worked with. Simone will be missed by so many people and I am happy I had the opportunity to know her and work with her. I hope that warmth, caring and happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time. Our family grew to know Simone as we enjoyed time and many conversations together at St. Marguerite School during the days of our children being students there. I have never met a woman so warm, thoughtful, faith filled, loving life and loving people; particularly children and her family. I hope that in this most difficult time, that you are comforted by the fond memories you share and that her smiles, laughter and her spirit stay alive in us as we glory in the sights and sounds of all God’s wonders; the rustle of trees, waves of a beach, sounds of birds, iridescent rainbows and the laughter of a child. I had the honor of working with Simone for many years at St. Marguerite School. She was a woman with a beautiful soul and it shone through everything she did and the children knew it too. She was a courageous woman. Her battle with Breast Cancer was inspiring and to see her a year after her treatments as vibrant and lovely as always, was truly inspiring. I am still in shock at the news of her passing but I know that she is truly in a much better place now and that we are richer for having had the privilege of walking with this Angel.
