Sixta R. Hernandez

Sixta R. Hernandez, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord on February 6, 2012, at the age of 89. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Santiago Reyes and Augustina G. Reyes, on March 28, 1922. Sixta will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially those she met during recreational activities at St. Vincent de Paul Nutrition Center. Sixta was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Wilfredo Hernandez; sister, Lola Quinones; brothers, Jose Reyes, Hipolito Reyes and Alberto Reyes; and niece, Margarita Hernandez. She is survived by her children, Herminia Dandridge (Ruben), James Hernandez (Candace), Irene Duque, Gloria Garcia (Juan) and William Hernandez; grandchildren, Veronica Dandridge, Adrian Dandridge, Matthew Hernandez (Stephanie), Andrew Hernandez, Darlene Loflin (John), Shirley Duque, Kristopher Garcia, Anthony Garcia (Levon); great-grandchildren, Frank Gonzalez, Ashley Gonzalez, Kelly Gonzales, Matthew Hernandez, Jr., Kaylee Hernandez, Reagan Loflin, Cameron Loflin and Arabella Garcia; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2012 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection of the Lord Catholic Church, 7990 West Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas 78227.
