Goddaddy Solomon Badger III & Julie:
I am always astonished at how the two of you manage through all boulders in life and this mountain, I know is one that you will be able to climb up and over. I truly appreciate your taking up with me over the years your patience, your presence, your pride, your confidence, your unwillingness to give in to the DEVIL. You are truly steadfast, unmovable, and more than conquerors of anything that comes your way. Your Father will truly be missed I am sure, Keep living, fighting the good fight, and you shall see him again.

I love you, Your Goddaughter,

Mrs. Antoinette Cummings, Rowland, and the Boys.

Servant of God Well Done! No words can express what Doc meant to me. He came into my life at a time when I was trying to find myself. He helped me navigate through some difficult circumstances. As my mentor he taught me the meaning of ministry. Thanks for everything Doc. May the Badger family find comfort in the Gospel he preached. And one day we will meet never to part.

Rev. S. L. Badger was a towering figure and leader in a community called "Mixon Town" a place where people on the outside, may have viewed us as dejected and small.
Yet on Sunday mornings he would deliver messages of hope and self greatness. The members of Emmanuel Baptist were people of pride in themselves, their Pastor and their God! He was indeed our first Civil Rights leader.Thankyou Family for allowing all of us to share, but most of all thanks for the memories!
My family liived in the shadow of Emmanuel B. Church at 2261 Forest Street and was influenced by it.
On behalf of our late parents James & Willeen Mitchell and the entire Mitchell - Riggins family we their children submit this expression of sympathy:Willie Mae, Ulysses, Lewis, Earl, Juanita, Bernard, And Rhonda.
Let us all live by the book he preached!

To the Badger family
Surely we all will miss Rev. Badger.
Although we have been away from Jacksonville for over 40 years, he still remained an everlasting influence in our lives. Del will certainly miss the interesting and inspiring telephone conservations she shared with him, almost on a monthly basis, over the many years. We are very thankful that God put him in our lives to walk before us and provide the godly example for all of us. We loved him very much and we sincerely share your grief. He was Pastor and "Daddy" to many of us and certainly to our family.

Your father was about the last of the great prechers that I grew up under. Many times I played along with the late Bro. Cecil Fisher for the second Sunday services over on Forest Street location. I was also inspired by him to become a minister myself. Thank God for such a man as the late Rev. Dr. Solomon L. Badger Jr. I will keep all of you in my prayers. God bless. Another legendary soldier has left us to be with the Lord. How Heaven must be rejoicing as he joins all those mighty Christian Soldiers who have preceeded him, Revs. Donald, Young, Neal,C. Daley, D. Graham, Kinsey,...just to name a few. What a reunion! To have served the Lord with dignity, honor, and truth is a rare commodity in these perilous last days, but Rev. Badger made that accomplishment. May God bless his family during their time of transition.

To the Badger Family;
It has been a wonderful journey, to have had both a wonderful mother and great father to nuture you in so many different ways. In this time of beheavement, mourn. We all will miss the sense of community that your parents provided that I have found that really dont exist in today's world, either Chrisitian or mortal. Your father truly lived the 70th saying of the Gospel of Thomas: If you give rise to what is within you, what is within you will save you. Dear Badger Family:

I have known Rev. Badger all of my life and it was a great honor knowing him and your family. He was definitely a man of God, full of integrity and compassion. May his legacy on this earth continue through each of you. My parents, Nathaniel & Helen Wright greatly admired him and I could understand why. My father would always talk about how wise and humble he was. In all my years growing up in Emanuel that is all I saw, a man who lived the life he preached. May the life he lived and the God he served comfort you in this hour.

Those of us to whom Rev Badger has ministered down through the years, have inherited a rich supernatural legacy, much like all of you as his natural born children. However, you have had the distinct privilege of eating, sleeping, walking and talking with him all of your lives. What awesome spiritual deposits you have received time and time again! A valiant soldier has departed our presence. Your father, our wonderful shepherd, has entered into perpetual life. Now we can only imagine what it is like for him but if you look with your mind’s eye and see him today, I know you will experience peace that exceeds your intellectual capacity and joy beyond measure. We thank God for his life and his time on earth with us. We rejoice and celebrate that his absence from this old mortal body points us to his presence with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My sympathy and love to you all. Know that all you have been taught all your life is true. The Father has planned our life from the day we are born untill we die. I know that your father is where the Lord had reserved for him. My heart is heavy and I will miss him. As I shared with someone recently a sermon he preached on "End Seat Hogs". He stated when people go to the house of The Lord they feel they must sit in the same seat at the end of the row each time they come . He stated that no matter where you were seated The Lord was there so if someone else wanted to sit on the end, move down .The Lord has a sense of humor and may just take those in the middle. This has stayed with me as his way of saying to us all that we are all equal in The Lords eyes and we should always do as he would while on this earth. I will pray for each of you and for my children, ( his grandchildren). May your memories of the joy you had with your dad help you in this time of grift.

Thinking Of You

Barbara Lundy-Griffin

August 2, 2008

Praise the Lord, Badger Family
My deepest sympathy for the lost of your loved one, I know you loved him dearly and have a special place for him in your heart. Remember that God is with you always, he will take away the burden and give you peace.

I'm the youngest of Elise Lundy's children, I never got the chance to know Uncle Solomon but I've always heard wonderful things about him. I think the last time I saw him, I was in my early teens, perhaps younger. He was a comfort to be around.

I know he is with the Lord awaiting the day of our rapture. I would like to leave the words of this song I wrote, as a tribute to him and those he left behind, stay blessed in the
Lord, may he kept you always.

'Please Don't Cry"
By B.E.Lundy

If I die, please don't cry
Please don't cry, I'll tell you why

When it's my time to meet the
Lord of Hosts
Send me to him, in the presence
of the Holy Ghost
I want you to give God the Praise
Dance and Shout, until the roof raise

Whether you stand
Or stay in your seat
Jump for joy, and stump your feet
Jump for joy, and stump your feet

If I die, please don't cry
Please don't cry, I'll tell you why

I'll be Heaven bound, fill the room
with a glorious sound
Dance and shout, let his anointing
ring out
I don't want no tears, I don't want
no fears

Whether you stand
Or stay in your seat
Jump for joy, and stump your feet
Jump for joy, and stump your feet

If I die, please don't cry
Please don't cry, I'll tell you why

All my troubles will be taken away
I want be sad on this blessed day
You can keep your sorrows,
Let me explain
Save your worries for those
who remain

Whether you stand
Or remain in your seat
Jump for joy, and stomp your feet
Jump for joy, and stomp your feet

When I die, please don't cry
Please don't cry, I'll tell you why
I'll be happy by and by

My love and sympathy extends to the entire Badger family and those who were blessed to have him in our lives, if even for a moment.
