Son Cha

September 16, 1949 - November 3, 2024

Sacramento, CA

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Son Cha, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left us on November 3, 2024, at the age of 75. Son was born on September 16, 1949, in Seoul, Korea, and moved to the United States where she built a life full of love, devotion, and laughter.

Son is survived by her devoted husband, Jun Cha; her sons Jeff Cha and David Cha; her sister Kim Blakley; and many other family members and friends who will miss her deeply. She was a loving wife, a caring mother, a loving grandmother, a cherished sister, and a treasured friend.

Son's professional life began in Livermore, where she worked in the food and grocery industry, including Albertsons. Later, after moving to the Auburn area, she worked alongside her husband Jun, a machinist, and played an integral role in supporting their family by joining the company in the packaging department. She was always there for her sons, providing them with love, encouragement, and guidance. Everything Son did in life was aimed at creating a better future for her family, and she took great pride in the success and happiness of her sons.

Outside of work, Son had many passions that enriched her life. She was an avid gardener, finding joy and peace in nurturing her plants. She also loved to shop on QVC, often discovering unique products that she could purchase for herself and her family. Finding great items to send her Grandchildren brought her great joy. Above all, Son cherished spending time with her sons, her grandchildren, and her sister, Kim. Her love for her family was boundless, and she always put their needs first.

Son's culinary skills were legendary. She was an amazing cook, especially known for her traditional Korean dishes, which she prepared with love and care. Her cooking was a way for her to bring people together, creating lasting memories and delicious meals that will be remembered for years to come.

Son's beautiful, flawless skin, her infectious laugh, and vibrant personality were just some of the many qualities that made her unforgettable. Even at 75, she radiated a youthful spirit, and her warmth and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Son's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She was an extraordinary woman whose life was defined by her love for her family, her dedication, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
