Sonia Reyes Cardona Obituary
Born on September 20, 1953, in Guaynabo, Sonia spent her life within the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She loved her sons, her friends, dancing, and music. Sonia is preceded in death by her parents Salome Reyes and Demetria Cardona, her sister Noemi Reyes, and her brother Josein Reyes.
Sonia was an incredible and loving mother and is survived by her sons Pedro Jose Gomez, Pedro Javier Gomez, and his wife Meredith Gomez. Her sons were her proudest accomplishment and greatest joy. Sonia will also be remembered by countless, dear friends and family.
A wake will be held in her honor on February 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Borinqu�n Memorial Park, located on Carr. #798 Km. 29.7 Bo, Sector La Guasabara, 00725, Puerto Rico. A burial service will follow on February 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Sonia's name to Alzheimer's Disease International (alzint.org).

Nacida el 20 de septiembre de 1953 en Guaynabo, Sonia pas� su vida en la hermosa isla de Puerto Rico. Amaba a sus hijos, a sus amigos, el baile y la m�sica. Sonia fue precedida en fallecimiento por sus padres, Salom� Reyes y Demetria Cardona, su hermana Noem� Reyes y su hermano Jose�n Reyes.
Sonia fue una madre incre�ble y amorosa. Le sobreviven sus hijos Pedro Jos� G�mez, Pedro Javier G�mez y su esposa Meredith G�mez. Sus hijos fueron su mayor orgullo y alegr�a. Sonia tambi�n ser� recordada por innumerables amigos y familiares queridos.
Un velorio en su honor se llevar� a cabo el 13 de febrero de 2025, de 5:00 PM a 8:00 PM, en Borinqu�n Memorial Park, ubicado en Carr. #798 Km. 29.7 Bo, Sector La Guas�bara, 00725, Puerto Rico. El servicio de entierro ser� el 14 de febrero de 2025, de 12:00 PM a 2:00 PM, en el mismo lugar.

In Loving Memory of Sonia:
There are some people in life who leave an imprint so deep that their kindness, strength, and love remain with you forever. Sonia was one of those people. She wasn´t just Pedro´s mom; she was family to us in every way that mattered.
My mom and I spent countless hours in her home after Loren and Pedro went to college, and from the moment I stepped through the door, she made sure I felt safe, seen, and cared for. Without hesitation, she´d offer to cook for me, as if feeding someone was her way of saying, you belong here, you are loved. And I was-because that´s just who she was.
Sonia was a fierce and unwavering friend, the kind of person who didn´t just show up when things were good, but especially when they weren´t. She had this rare and beautiful ability to sense when you needed someone, to call and check in, to let you vent without judgment-because she just knew. She was thoughtful beyond words, always considerate, always putting others first. She never hesitated to be a pillar of strength, to rally behind those she loved, to comfort and uplift without expecting anything in return.
She was genuine, transparent, and deeply good. The kind of good that is rare and unforgettable. Sonia had this light about her, one that made life a little softer, a little safer, just by being in her presence.
I will always hold onto the memories, the warmth of her home, the kindness of her heart, and the love she so effortlessly gave. She was truly amazing, and I feel so blessed to have known her, but also.. I feel so deeply thankful to have known her.
Sonia, you will always be missed, and the love you so freely gave will continue to live on in all of us. You are a beautiful reminder that the kindness and warmth we share never truly fade-they remain, carried forward in the hearts of those whose lives you touched. Thank you for everything.
