I met Sonny several times when he visited UK both as member of The Crickets and a solo artist. He was always very affable and did not patronise. Always had time to talk about Buddy Holly, the Crickets, Everly Brothers, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Knox and many others upon some of whose hit records he had played lead guitar. Fine guitar player who could embrace many styles, including classical at times. Great songwriter probably whose best remembered one was the rock'n'roll rebel anthem "I Fought the Law"
One of my 1950s music heroes whom I actually met from time to time and in the words of my late wife "What a lovely man"

A talented singer and songwriter. He created unforgettable songs and some of the best TV show theme songs. Just great music. Sincere condolences to the Curtis family, May God be with you in your tine of loss.

One of the very best TV theme songs. It defined my early teen years.
I didn't know he had written / collaborated on so many other great tunes. Quite a talented gentleman!!
Rest peacefully, Sir ~
