Sonny Ferguson

What a blessing Sonny was to so many lives. I am so thankful to the Lord that He brought him into my life, I cherish each and every memory!!

My {late} wife & I lived close to Sonny & Missy in Sherwood Forest & enjoyed his performances there as well as chatting in the pool. Sonny's talent was phenomenal, and I was saddened to hear of his passing.

Lost all contacts from phone crash and we just saw of Sonny's passing.
We became friends in the 70's in Richmond. My brother Lou, GM of Holiday Inn Richmind, hired Sonny's band as their House Band and from there beyond to Fl.
June & I love you Melissa and very sorry for losing the love of your life.
I know Sonny & Lou are having an amazing reunion.
If you're back in Fl pls let's know.

What an absolute delight and blessing getting to be a part of Sonny and Melissa´s life. I met Sonny after he and David recorded their album. Joe Boone and I joined them for a tour. Sonny was a very special person. Many memories with him and all were good. You will be missed by many. Rest in peace my friend. I am sure you are already making music in heaven. Prayers to all of the family.

I met Sonny through his son Chris who was my friend when I was in High School. Anytime I would come over to hang out with his son, he was always nice to me and polite with me. My prayers and condolences go out to his family.

Sonny you brought so much happiness to others with your amazing talent, thoughtfulness, and caring. You were always a joy to be with even though there were so many nights you were in so much pain. I find myself reflecting on all the happy times with you otherwise the grief would be too much to handle. You will live in all of our hearts. There will never be another like you. I had to sign in with Stu's email as it wouldn't take mine.

I am not on Facebook very much these days, therefore I just heard the news about Sonny´s passing. I am so sorry! While I have never had the opportunity to meet Sonny, you guys from afar always seemed like a real-life love story. You both were always smiling and so very happy. I want to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. You are a very lucky girl to have met the man that could really make you smile and enjoy life. Sonny and I met at the University of Richmond in 1974, and continued as friends for almost 50 years. He was a talented musician, great friend, and devoted husband to Melissa. He will be greatly missed.

I didn't know Sonny real well, but met him through Wayne Moore. In his later years he often commented to me on Facebook. I remember him for his very sweet personality and friendliness!!

Sonny Ferguson was playing at the Countyline Moose lodge in East Orlando the first night we went in Aug 2013 he was a great entertainer as we joined that same night. I remember talking with him on his break and listened to his history of singing with the Box Tops, which Cry like a baby is one of my favorite songs to sing Karaoke. I´ve always wondered why we never had him back. RIP Sonny Ferguson

I first met Sonny in 5th grade. He was always genuinely kind all the way through school at a time some kids are not so kind to each other. Having been friends for years, we really bonded in summer school at Thomas Dale. We had a study group to our American History class. Sonny would pick us all up in his cool yellow convertible. He'd drive us out to the lake where we would actually study for our daily quizzes in class. Then he'd pull out his guitar and play and we'd all sing along to the songs of those days. This is one of my favorite memories of all time. You were so loved and appreciated. See you in the next life!

Thank you Sonny for coming into our lives . You had rodney doing wipe out one more time on the dance floor . We will miss you , you´re music and that smile . We will never forget you. Love Rodney n Kelly .
