Spencer Palozej Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 6, 2018.

Spencer Michelson Palozej, 29, of Manchester, CT, formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, loving son of Dean and Paula (Maher) Palozej of Stafford Springs, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in his home. Born in Hartford on February 2, 1988, he grew up and lived in Stafford Springs for most of his life before moving to Manchester last year. He was a graduate of Stafford High School, Class of 2007, and Porter & Chester Institute with an HVAC degree. Spencer was a landscaper and worked for various landscapers in the area. He loved his family, friends, animals and had a good soul. Spencer left an impact on everyone he encountered throughout his short life; from someone he had just met, to people he had known his entire life; he was inquisitive and thoughtful; he could always put a smile on your face. Spencer was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. He loved being outdoors, and he enjoyed raising pheasants and partridges. With his faithful companion, bird-hunting dog, Bear, he would go hunting with best hunting buddy, his dad, every chance he had. Spencer recently had the opportunity to travel to Montana with his dad on a fishing trip in 2017, and was eagerly looking to return in September 2018. He trained Bear with world-class bird hunting dogs, and Bear was always one of the best. He was a member of the Stafford Fish & Game Club. In addition to his parents, Spencer is survived by his beloved siblings, Lauren Palozej Thomas and her husband Burke of Newburyport, MA, Hayden Palozej and Everett Palozej, both of Boston, MA; his paternal grandparents, with whom he had a very special bond, Raymond and Faith Palozej of Ellington; uncles Dr. Robert Palozej of Ellington and Dr. David Palozej and his wife Colleen of Ellington; uncles Philip Maher and his wife Sun of Simsbury, Douglas Maher and his wife Pat of Simsbury, Christopher Maher and his wife Mary-Jayne of Glastonbury, Gordon Maher and his wife Debra of Burlington, VT; his aunts, Marcia Grothe and her husband Mark of South Windsor and Laurinda Moreno of Kennebunk, ME; many special cousins; his lifelong best friend, Aaron Peirolo of Providence, RI. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Philip and Virginia Maher. His family will receive friends and family for calling hours on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery. Memorial donations in Spencer's memory may be made to the Stafford Fish & Game Club, Attn: Matt Purnell, P. O. Box 74, Stafford Springs, CT 06076, with the plans to construct a bench in memory of Spencer. For online condolences and guest book, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com

Dear Dean and Paula, with heartfelt sadness we are wishing you, Lauren, Hayden and Everett, peace and comfort at this time. I remember Spencer sitting in the WITT cafeteria with his whimsical smile on his face. He always had his comical sense of humor and his caring for others, which I will remember in my heart. Spencer was (is) such a special person from childhood to his later years. We lost a child ourselves and know what you are feeling. You have each other to share your comfort and memories. I wish God hadn't called him home so soon, but like our daughter, their time with us although too short, must be remembered in all they accomplished with us and our love for them. May you all find comfort in family and friends and each other.

With prayers and love,
Carol and Dick Mottes

Lauren,
I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Losing a brother is an unimaginable pain. Although I did not know Spencer personally, my husband and father-in-law met him, your dad and Bear on occasion while pheasant hunting. I was told he was fond of our pup, Sophia and it was apparent to them how much he loved his companion. My heart hurts for you. Please know that I am thinking of you and your family and praying you can find some comfort and peace during this difficult time.

So sad to hear of Spencer's passing! I have so many fond memories of him in my art classes. He was always smiling, had a great sense of humor and an intense work ethic. The world will be a bit emptier without Spencer and his enthusiasm for life.
My condolences to all of the Palozej and Maher families.
