BRASS-Stacey Lynn Brass (Good Deed Woman) passed away tragically as a result of a motor vehicle accident on November 15th, 2008 at the age of 23 years. Stacey was born on February 6th, 1985 in Regina, SK to Carman (John) Southwind and Donalda (Dona) Brass. Stacey was a very special young woman and much loved by everyone who came to know her. She knew the true value of a person was their heart. Stacey had honour and respect for herself and others. Everyone who met her liked her gentle smile, sweet spirit, her silliness and her poker playing skills. Stacey enjoyed cooking and watching the food channel as well as listening to music. She loved to be hugged and truly loved to give hugs. Stacey was a caring and generous person. Her true passion was her family and her favorite thing to do was having family days every Sunday with her husband David and her son Baby Dave. Stacey loved bonding with her little sister Serenna. She was a traditional Saulteaux woman who lived a good life and was a good person. The Creator called Stacey to be with her family who went on before her. Her maternal greatgrandparents: George Brass Jr. and Susan, Dan and Eliza Pelletier, grandfathers: Donald Ray Pelletier, Milton Brass and paternal grandfather Russell Southwind, her father Carman (John) Southwind, stepfather Norman (Storm) Lasas, uncles: Lawrence Brass, Charles Cochrane, Solomon Hall, Delmar Brass, Kohkum Lorena Pelletier and Aunt Lavonne Brass. Stacey leaves behind her loving partner in life, David Howard Cote and her beautiful son David Daniel Storm Cote, her mother Donalda (Dona) and her step-dad Clarence Papequash, her sisters: Serenna Cochise Papequash Brass and Jacquie Kayseas; her brothers: John and Jeff Kayseas; her grandmothers: Shirley Olive Brass and Lorna Southwind; her in-laws: Daryl Cote Sr. and Sharon Key, special Unc Sanford Brass, special sisters: Sheri, Tasha, Jasmine, Samantha, Savannah and Alicia; her special brothers: Kevin, Rodney, Misha, Skyler, Darnell, Delano and Brayden; her special aunts: Marcy (Lawrence) Pelletier, Kim (Davey) Papequash, Giselle (Jay) Brass, Renee (Dallas) Brass, Devine (Andre) Toto, Darcy Pelletier, Merylene Lorenz, Eulalie Steininger, Mary Hall; her special uncles: Derrick Brass, Ivan Pelletier, Danny Pelletier, Darren Brass, special family Jossy Pooh , and "Teddy Bear " Eko, along with other aunts, uncles and cousins on the Brass and Pelletier side of Stacey's family. On Stacey's father's side of the family we would like to mention some of the special people she left behind, Sandra, Jackie, Cornelia and Tara Southwind and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. Stacey will be dearly loved and cherished by her family and friends. The Wake Services will be held on Tuesday, November 18th and Wednesday, November 19th. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. all from the Saulteaux Plex Hall, Key First Nations, SK with Elder Peter Nippi officiating. Thank you to all who expressed their sympathies and shared our grief. Having others share memories and love for my girl has been a great help. This has been a very hurtful time for me, then I read the paper and see all the horror and tragedies that is going on in the world and my heart goes out to all the others out there who are experiencing their own hurts and turmoil. But, there is always hope, for instance, my girl was taken from me and my family, but my little sister will bring in another to sit in her place.
