Stacey Rachelle Gillespie

Stacey Rachelle Gillespie, age 53, of Charlotte, North Carolina, transitioned to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2022, after a gradual decline in health. Stacey was born on April 3, 1969, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Stacey graduated from Old Dominion University. She then began her career at Bank of America where she met the love her life Corey S. Gillespie. Stacey enjoyed travelling and she lived life to the fullest. Stacey was preceded in death by her niece, Casey Gaines and grandmothers, Mamie Meade and Mary Gaines.

Stacey leaves to cherish memories her loving husband of 22 years, Corey S. Gillespie; her mother and father, Florence Gaines and Edward Gaines; five brothers, Keith Meade, Edward Gaines Jr., Travis Gaines (Shannon), and Tyrese Gaines; two sisters, Trevenia Love (Maria) and Sanobria Gaines; three nephews, Tyler and Khai Gaines and Braeden Love; goddaughter, Ariyanna Boose; mother and father in love, Arshea B. Gillespie and Calvin C. Gillespie; sister in love, Calvia S. Gillespie; aunts and uncles, Adlean Meade, Shirley and Thomas Penn, Charlie and Helen Meade, Larry and Linda Meade, Ronald and Lorraine Meade, Donald and Carolyn Meade, Marvin Meade, Marion and Andrew Baker and Priscilla Meade (Stephanie Wright); aunts and uncle in love, Ronald Hancock, Lucille Hancock, Peggy H. McKay. and Ann Pearl Brigman; a host of cousins, relatives and friends to include cousin in love, Tanya White; and two very close friends, Kimberly Parsons-Smith and Monique Yates.

A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Oak Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights Chapel.
