Stacia Baker

Stacia Baker, born Stacia Messick on October 27, 1957, in Salisbury, Maryland, peacefully passed away on November 1, 2023, at the age of 66 in Williamsburg, Virginia.
She is survived by her loving sister Terri Shores, sister Donna Hitchens, sons Daniel Baker and Nathaniel Baker (Lynnsey), daughter Ruth Ann Altman-Burnett (Paul), 18 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stacia was preceded in death by her parents Charles Hugh Messick and Ann Elizabeth Phillips Messick, brother Charles "Chuck" Messick, and sister Christine Chance.
Stacia attended Eastern Christian College majored in Biblical Studies, Delaware State College majored in Accounting, Wilmington College receiving her Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting and Washington College receiving her Masters of Arts in Psychology for her higher education.
Throughout her career, she worked at Kent County Levy Court, SunGard Public Sector, Alpha Christian Academy, Ohab and Co, and Drucker and Faulk. Stacia was a dedicated professional who excelled in her field of Accounting and Business Administration.
Stacy found solace and community in her places of worship. She was a member of Liberty Church of Christ, First Christian Church of Winter Park, and Avalon Church of Christ.
Her faith was a source of strength and comfort to her. In her free time, Stacia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and doing various artistic hobbies. She had a passion for drawing, sketching, painting, and creating. Her creativity brought joy to those around her and left a lasting legacy.
Stacy decided just a week or so before her passing to donate her body to science to hopefully help others dealing with some of the same illnesses she fought. A small family get together will be scheduled to celebrate her life and spread her ashes amongst flowers and roses as she wished.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Breast Cancer research or support organizations in memory of Stacia Baker.
