Communicated with Gareth and Carrie today. We all miss you so much. You were our shining star. Next month Ed and I are going to London to visit everyone and also take Ieuan to Rome. He is very excited and studying Italian Duolingo. We told him he can be our guide and he responded "Si." May will be Sweet 16 soon. She was wearing nail polish in a photo Gareth sent! I sent her a Sweet 16 tiara and t-shirt. You would like that. Looking forward to telling you about our visit.

When you were born, already smiling, I thought of you as my "joy" to the world. You brought so much happiness to family and friends. You were a gifted teacher and talented in so many ways. We were recently in Michigan and spent time with Carrie and the family. Ed and I went to Sicily. You would have loved the food and history. We stay in touch with your UK family. May is doing well and Ieuan is sheer joy. We feel like we are visiting with you whenever we see dragonflies.

On April 14th, Ed and I celebrated you at my own birthday party. Special people were present, especially your son Ieuan. Also present were your sister Carrie, nephew Connor and niece Caylee. Julia attended with Mylada and Bryda, cousins Scott, Zachary and Britte, Tony, John and JM, and some dear friends. I reminisced that I had been in London 7 years prior to say goodbye and shared how you loved celebrations. We toasted to you.

We are celebrating your birthday today. We reminisced wonderful times together like when we walked you to your college graduation from Michigan State and Disneyland with Ieuan. I Facetimed with Ieuan today and Gareth had a cake with a toy theme, recalling how you liked toys for your birthday so Ieuan could play with them. He and May have a step-sister, Dulcie, who is very cute. May still loves music and laughter. Today Carrie and Caylee played one of your favorite games, Scrabble and baked brownies because you loved chocolate. All in all, we celebrated you today. Wish you were here.

Dear Stacie Joy,
We are going to visit the little synagogue, Ha Tikvah, at the City of Hope today and remember the blessing you are in our hearts. We FaceTime with May and Ieuan regularly. May still lights up when I sing to her. Ieuan started a band and is a really good guitarist. They are wonderful children. Gareth misses you immensely and is a terrific dad. We talk with Carrie all the time and recently had dinner with Julia and the girls. We all miss you and love you.

Happy Birthday Stacie Joy! Today is your big 50! May seems very healthy and happy. Ieuan visited us for 2 weeks this summer. He learned to swim and wrote a journal of his trip--just like his mama. We went on a sunset cruise with Carrie's family and saw so many dolphins. Ieuan loved it. He looked adorable at cousin Zachary's wedding in his dinosaur bowtie. We loved every moment of him. We sang Happy Birthday together today. Ed says thank you for making your mom so happy. We love you and miss you. xoxoxo

We are celebrating you 4 years after your death. Yesterday a dragonfly circled me as I swam for us. You see, your spirit lives on. I spoke to Ieuan and Gareth today, and sang to May. You have a new baby niece, Sierra Sofia-Jo, born March 2, 2021. We remember your last visit when we took you and Ieuan to Disneyland. It was such a special day. We had a balloon launch today. Ieuan’s message is: “Mommy was the best mommy there ever was, and ever will be. She will forever remain in our hearts.” That says it all.

Yesterday, 3 years ago, was the last time we spoke in person. You were so dear as you said "Hi Mom. How are you?" And today we honor your memory. I miss our visits. I miss you. We celebrated Passover with Ieuan and May. Ieuan was especially enthralled with opening the front door as Elijah's cup of wine disappeared. He asked Gareth if they could continue that tradition. May was excited when I sang to her. We had a lovely visit. Ed and I watched your video and looked through photos. Gareth and I exchanged text messages. It is hard to believe it is 2 years since we were together butI we were very much together in spirit today. Ed and I sat on the bench at the park where I watched you and Ieuan play. In February I sat on your London bench in Brockwell Park and felt so close to you. I had an adventure with Ieuan by train to London and we toured the HMS Belfast. I gave May a manicure and she was very happy. The children are wonderful and Gareth is good daddy.

To me, as my stepsister, and someone I admired, Stacie was an advocate, a source of strength, a voice for those who needed an extra one, and an individualist.

I aspire to have such a profound impact in advocacy and human awareness as Stacie did.

Stacie, my cousin, was loved and admired by so many. She was dynamic and courageous - a bright light. Thanks to Barbara and Ed for capturing her spirit.

Barbara and Ed described Stacie's dynamic personality , and courage as she handled cancer. They shared her uncanny strength of character to write about and advocate for special needs children; they shared her presence of mind to stay involved with her family as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, relative and friend even while she fought the cancer . Stacie made a difference in her brief life. She will be missed.

Barbara and I are so glad to have met Stacie and her family. And as an Englishman I am so proud that, at such a young age cut so tragically short in life, Stacie was invited to address the House of Commons twice.

Stacie was truly great with words as a published author, blogger, and speaker. I have been missing her canty humor ever since her struggle with leukemia began. Stacie will forever be remembered by her family, friends, students and for her advocacy for the disabled.

We feel blessed to have met Stacie and her family and I admired her a great deal as a mother, wife, and advocate for children with disabilities. Our deepest sympathy to her family. May the loving memories help heal your grieving hearts.

I am so happy I had the chance to meet you Stacie. I also always heard so much about you and your family from your mom.
My heart breaks for your family. May they find peace in the wonderful memories of you❤
