Stacy Williams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2009.
Stacy Corbin Williams VIRGINIA BEACH - Stacy Renee Corbin Williams went home to be with our Lord Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. She was born Sept. 19, 1958, to the late Edward and Peggy Corbin in Auburn, Vt., where she was one of the first black children to be born in that city. After moving to several cities during her childhood, the family settled in Teaneck, N.J., where she graduated from Teaneck High School. She later graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. After a successful career in fashion design, Stacy and her husband relocated to Virginia Beach, where she opened the popular soul food establishment, Angel's Food Restaurant, in Virginia Beach on Holland Road. She leaves behind her husband, Tyrone F. Williams; her brother, Clinton Corbin; her niece, Nichole Corbin; mother-in-law, Helen L. Williams. She also leaves to cherish her loving memory an aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Norman Lane; an uncle, Edward Moses; and godparents, Lewis and Peggy Gaskins, all of Pennsylvania and a beloved cousin, Melanie Lane of Maryland, along with a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m. at Enoch Baptist Church, 5641 Herbert Moore Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is in charge of arrangements. We invite you to send a condolence message to the family's guestbook at www.pretlowandsons.com.

'Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can not heal'. I pray that God be with you in your time of sorrow. Stacy was a loving, kind person who will be sorely missed.I will always remember the kindness she showed when I lost Harris and all she would say was that was what family was supposed to do, be loving to each other. I will miss her.
Yours in prayer and sympathy,
