Josh, I just found out today that Stan,rip died.
My sincere condolences to you and the rest of your brothers and to Frannie and Bob Katzen (I never called her Ellen). Stan was so wonderful and supportive to me always. Thinking about him...he would always say when h walked into an event where I had done the decor..."Micki did this I would know her work anywhere". I will never forget his smile and kibbitzing.

My High School friend Esther Mishelevich participated in a choir at Stanley's house, stating how much she enjoyed singing. This activity was new to her and a surprise to me, since she had been such a diligent and successful college student at the University of Pittsburgh.
If Stanley opened this door to her for the first time, he deserves significant credit for that too, along with the many you have already listed.

Marty and I send our sincere condolences to the Franzos family. Stanley has been a friend of ours for many years. Always graciously and warmly photographing us along with other who love and support Pittsburgh. We consider Stanley a Shadyside neighbor and a friend. We send our prayers to his family.

Franzos family, we wish you all the best during these times. Our parents have always remained the best of friends throughout the years. I have always admired their bond and with all of the changes life brings, they've continued to remain close. With your recent loss as you can imagine it also has a major impact on their lives. Fortunately, I know how many years of good times they have shared and all the amazing and detailed memories. I am hopeful that you're each doing well and know that our thoughts are with you. It had been my pleasure to know Stan as a Shadyside neighbor, a chronicler of all things social in Pittsburgh and a happy face to greet when one met him. May his memory be for blessing to all who remember him.

We will remember you and love you, forever. The closeness of our two families will always be treasured. Our sadness is heavy now, but eventually our memories will turn to midnight toboggan rides in Schenley park, wonderful dinners from the kitchen of "Stan and Dolly," the photographs you took of our wedding, your kindness, and your sense of humor. You are with your beloved Dolly, but our sadness knows no bounds.

Stan was a true gentleman. Sadly missed.

Stanley was such a special person. Kind, generous, smart, funny, talented, caring, and loving are just a few words that come to mind when I think of him. There are no words that can express my sadness and feelings of loss. It was a privilege to see him recently in New Orleans with the boys and their wives. And though I am very sad, I will always have a smile, thinking of his chandelier story.

Stan, like Dolly, will always have a special place in my heart. It was an honor to be their friend.

My love and sympathy to all of you on the loss of your beloved Stanley. For many years Stan was a vital part of the Brockett "family" ... taking brilliant shots of all of our productions as well as wonderfully funny Brockett and Barbara publicity pictures. Stan understood the meaning of comedy ... he "got it" and it showed in his work. May he rest in peace and may he be laughing in Heaven with Don.

Stan was one of the nicest guys I ever knew. He treated everyone with the utmost respect.

One of my funniest memories of him was when he was the Pitt Panther and climbed on the goal post during a game. The game had to be stopped until they could get him down. He helped bring laughter and fun to a lot of us.

With huge sadness I add my farewell to Stan. He was a gentle but strong force , embracing life and all people with warmth and acceptance . He simply always made you feel good. He will be missed by this community. But his impact will continue, not only in his wonderful photograpy capturing memories for all of us but by his kindess. My deepest sympathy to all of the family. The only way to soften this very sad time is that his health was certainly leaving him and his continued grief over his life's partner, his beloved Dolly was ever present in his heart. Perhaps, he is in a better place free of all this pain.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Stan Franzos. I cherished our friendship and feel privileged to have known him so many years. Stan was a true gentleman, a wonderful friend, and a kind, funny, and generous person. We laughed often, and I will miss his great stories and perspective.

It's been many years since I last saw Stan but he was the kind of man that never failed to bring a smile to my face when I thought back on the time's I had the pleasure of being in his company. He will be missed by all that knew him.

My daughter, Marian, and I looked forward to working with Stan every year at the Children's Holiday Party. Stan was a warm and kind gentleman, and he always made Marian feel very special. I will treasure the photographs he took of her since she was a toddler through her senior year in high school. I am very sorry for your loss.
