I always felt Mr. Ivy made himself available to his students. He was a principal who did put his students first. I am very sorry to hear of his passing.

I was Mr. Ivy's violin student years ago at Millard North. And boy, did we make him earn that paycheck! Today, what I admire most about him is that he was kind to us even when we weren't. After learning today that he was a believer, I now understand how that was possible. This is such a beautiful legacy. May God comfort you fully in the days ahead as you adjust and discover new living. The great hope of our faith is that one day, we will see each other again. God says that He will never leave you nor forsake you. When those tough times come, hold on to that along with the precious memories until you meet again.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Ivy's passing. He was my music teacher from 5th to 12th grade, and I am grateful for the impact he had on my musical life. I went on to earn a music degree and a law degree, and music will always be a big part of my life due in no small part to dedicated music teachers like Mr. Ivy. I have so many fond memories of him, including candy bar rewards for practicing, and his support and encouragement in forming a string quartet in high school. He will be missed but his legacy will not be forgotten.

Life is so precious especially that of our loved ones. My condolences on the passing of Mr Ivy. May God, who is not far from each one of us (Acts 17:27) bless you with his holy comfort.
