Words cannot express how much Stan meant to all of us here in Page and at the Powell Museum. Not only was he a founder of the Museum, but he was a great friend and mentor as well. He was always a gentleman and always willing to lend a hand when needed. He and Alice were such a wonderful couple. I want to always think of them walking hand in hand in a beautiful garden once again. Our prayers are for all of Stan and Alice's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

I first met Stan when I interviewed him for The Lake Powell Chronicle. He was much more than guidebook writer. He was a gentleman, thoughtful, keenly perceptive, intelligent. He had an interest in writing for writing's sake.

Our deepest sympathy to the Jones family. Stan and Alice were friends of whom we have fond memories. Our trips together always included wonderful stories and appreciation of nature.
