Stanley Kotowski Jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 16, 2024.
Stanley Thomas Kotowski Jr, known affectionately as "Stan the Man", passed away on August 16, 2024, at the age of 60 in Hilton Head, SC. He was born on November 15, 1963 in Cambridge, MA. Stan grew up in Wilmington and lived with his family in Methuen, MA. Known for his great sense of humor, Stan lit up every room he was in with laughter.

Stan graduated from Wilmington High School before earning his degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology. His career was marked by significant contributions to various companies, including Tyco/AMP, Dynawave, Volex RF Technologies, and TRU Corporation. He began and concluded his notable career at MIT Lincoln Laboratories, where he worked as a Cable Process Engineer for the last decade.

Stan was not only very handy, but he was the very embodiment of a modern-day MacGyver and could fix just about anything that came his way. Stan was also an avid golfer, a devoted Boston sports fan, and a car enthusiast. He cherished the annual July 3rd celebrations at White Horse Beach and loved exploring new places on vacations with his wife, Jackie, and their sons.

Stan leaves behind his loving wife, Jackie (Velliquette) Kotowski, sons Ryan and Zak Kotowski, father Stanley Kotowski Sr & his girlfriend Maureen Ford, brother Rick Kotowski, and sister Kim (Kotowski) Tanguay. He was preceded in death by his mother Maryetta (Silva) Kotowski, and sister Jennine Kotowski.

While no formal services will be held, a private Celebration of Life is planned for November, reserved for family and close friends. This gathering will be a time to honor Stan and keep his memory alive through the sharing of stories and the raising of a glass.

Stan and myself worked together at M/A-Com, and TRU. We also did a few work trips in Kentucky. On one occasion we had a layover in Cincinnati. We're sitting around a common area waiting for our connecting flight to board, and lost track of time....and we hear "last call for Boston"....so we're running thru the airport like O.J., get on the plane and the doors close behind us.
We had lots of laughs thru the years, and will miss him.
So sorry Jackie, my son Elijah had you for a teacher at Whittier.

I am so sorry for your loss Jackie and for your family´s loss as well. I had the pleasure of working with Stan in the engineering department at TRU. If I had a problem or needed encouragement he was there. He told me he cleaned his deck one night while on prednisone so that I knew how I was feeling on the same meds would be over soon. He was a funny guy indeed. My prays go out to all of you

Yeah this is easy. Favorite memory of Stan is swimming in a very high end hotel in Miami in all of our formal clothes way after hours and because we had just gotten back from a swanky dinner with Jackie, Kathleen, Sandi, and Shane. The security guard was gracious. But boy was that fun! Wishing your family the best memories of the happiest times and sending hugs and good vibes for the slow and painful healing process.

My heart goes out to the Kotowski family . As a kid I remember going to halloween parties at the Elm school with Stanley ,Rick and our moms. I also remember going for milk and cookies at your Volos house when you guys lived on Columbia Street. Hanging out on the front steps when you all moved to Plymouth street by Donnelly field. From there my memory fades. I truly wish we could´ve reconnected.
Stanley rest in peace my friend.

As a toddler who lived next to me with his brother Rick and mom and dad maryetta was one of my best friends and our children played together in the yard

While working on the LEMNOS program together, Stan created the most accurate and comprehensive Electrical System Diagram which I have been encouraging others to duplicate ever since. It is the gold standard as I saw it. Professional respect for his effort. Occasionally we would be opponents on the Golf league and we had a great time smack talkin' each other and thoroughly enjoying the round. My heart felt sympathy goes to his family.

Truly sorrow for your family loss. We met Stan when he was our daughters-in-law brother-in-law prior to our son's passing. Bright and caring person.
