I never knew Stan as Jess, Bud, Pop-Pop or Daddyo. But to hundreds, maybe thousands, of us on the internet, we knew him as philecop.

I noticed that handle, because I am from Fairmount, raised in Havertown, and my uncle was a cop out of South Philly. I couldn't believe Stan was from Dogtown, not with a name like that!

I wouldn't have even known Stan was gone, except that I missed his internet postings, and I went looking for him. I'll miss his postings for a long time.

Karen and Family,
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, but he did promise us what we suffer here on earth is nothing compared to the glory he will give us in heaven, so don't grieve for your dad now, for he is free at last.

All my love and sympathy

"Piccidilly Stan the Desert Man "
The past few days have lost their morning luster. The "Good Morning" greeting, a steaming cup of coffee, that strange critter with fuzzy slippers or some other joyful greeting with that hot,hot Arizona mesa background.
Shared family photos ~ his children and grandchildren, his wife and many of himself. So very proud of them all and their accomplishments (also their antics), including his Police buddies.
In one room with his computer and his new camera he reached out and touched so many people that only knew him through email. From the other condolences it seems he gathered us around him as an extended family, and shared his joy of life.
When Louis sent his letter on Monday I recognized many of the email addresses as having been fellow correspondents along the way. I feel very blessed to have been included in Stan's life as a friend. He was very special.
His remarkable final writing that Debbie shared appears to have been meant for everyone, "I am here,I am there, I am everywhere". How so like him to reach out and comfort us. May he rest in peace; I hope we all meet again one day.

Stan was such a prolific and fun contributor to the AzTeC Computing community. I always appreciated his wit and ironic sense of humor. He will truly be missed.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Stan in person. He reached out to me via email after he read an article about me in a Phila. newspaper over a decade ago. His daily emails brought a smile to my face and his encouraging words helped me through some hard times. My life will be lesser for the absence of my Friend in the Dessert. Rest in Peace is boring - now that you aren't suffering a worn out body, go have some fun! My condolences to Stan's family, I know you have a suffered a great loss, Stan was so proud of you all. I will miss you terribly, Stan. Love Ya!

Lou, Deb, Karen, & Tony,
Although we are 2000 miles apart, the memories of our childhood are something that I will always hold close to my heart. Uncle Bud was always so cool, so laid back and so relaxed about everything. He would let us do whatever we wanted, even when we knew we shouldn't be doing it!

Sean and I want you all to know that the 4 of you, and your families are in our constant thoughts and prayers. It is so very hard to lose someone close to us that we love and look up to, and I know that your dad is in a place where he is free of pain and illness. He will be so sadly missed, but I know his kind spirit will always be with all of us!!

Love you guys!!

My heartfelt condolences to Stan Migliore's extended family.

Stan brought tremendous joy to the multitudes of people he met online over the years and he will be greatly missed.

I will especially miss Stan's daily doses of cheer coming into my inbox each day. I've been friends with Stan since May, 1996... we met on the Internet before it was fashionable!

What a difference you made in my life...may you rest in peace, Stanbud!

love your kat

To Stan's family,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to each of you. It's been a long time since I have seen any of you. I remember going over to your house in Philly when I was kid with my father, to the weekends at Robin hood Lakes riding my motorcycle and hanging out at the lake with Louie, Debbie and the whole gang. I will miss the eamils my father (Big Freddy) would foward to me from you. They were always funny. I would foward them to my friends and they would ask who is Stan in the desert? His emails were great. Rest in Peace Stan.

For Stan and his Family,

Although I didn't know you in person, your emails for the past several years always brought a bright smile to my face. You loved your family dearly, never said a bad word about anything, or anyone.
You cheered me up many times with your positive attitude about life.
I will miss your "Stan in the Desert" signature.
I wish you many blessings, and hope to meet you in person someday in God's presence.

Pater noster,
Qui es in caelis,
Sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua
Sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum
Da nobis hodie,
Et dimitte nos debita nostra,
Sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris;
Et ne nos inducas in tentatiionem,
Sed libera nos a malo.

To your family, please accept my sincerest condolances for Stan.

Stan in the Desert - I am greatly saddened by your departure from us. I never knew you directly, but I very much enjoyed your emails that were forwarded to me for years. I always looked forward to them, and will miss them very much. You made a great contribution to those who were lucky enough to know you, and to those who were never so lucky.

Stan & Family,
Stan was so proud of his family. I don't remember all the names but I recognize all of you by sight. Stan made so many peoples' days brighter. Our last lunch was really a funny story. A long one which I won't go into here. Lou heard it. Farewell Stan, so many of us will miss you. I have had a better life for knowing you these last 10 yrs. Many more folks send their love & prayers through me. Stan was a popular guy.

Very sad to hear about your untimely passing. Will miss your daily emails that made me smile and laugh. Amazing how we got back in touch after many years and miles between us and our families. Although I haven't seen you in over twenty years I have many memories of you and your family. Thanks for the wonderful trips to the Pocono Mountains you generously provided me and my family. Leaving us with fond memories of Elkhart Street and summer days in Philly. God Bless You.

Cops seem to find other cops no matter where they live. Stan and I met on-line through another cop friend. After that there was a funny email from Stan every day. However, one of the nicest emails I ever read came from Stan's wife telling what a kind hearted gentle soul he was and how a fish always had a home with them. I have lost a wonderful e-mail friend.

To Stan's family,
My deepest sympathy to each of you.
Stan and I worked together in the 35th and became good friends. Through modern technology (ie computer) we were able to keep in contact on a daily basis as well as by phone after his move to AZ.
He was always bragging about his family, especially his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy.
Stan has endured a lot the past couple of years but his spirits remained high.
I personally will miss him as well.
May he rest in peace.
