Stefan Novotny

Stefan Novotny passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015. Born in New York City March 18, 1985 the son of Kathy (Katie) Acker Novotny and Wolfgang August Novotny, he was a beloved son, brother, nephew and friend. Stefan was an original and deeply creative artist who was just coming into his own when his life was cut short. He will be remembered as a loyal friend with a sharp wit, a laugh-out-loud sense of humor, a passion for life and art, a unique and creative sensibility and a warm heart. He graduated from Fairfield Warde High School in 2003 and Paier College of Art in Hamden in 2008 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He worked at Giant Steps School for the Neurologically Impaired in Southport for a number of years. Survivors include his loving parents, his brother, Phillip, his sister, Lea, his partner Andrea Pane and his cherished friend Stefanie Pfann. He is also survived by his aunt Abby Arnsdorff of Savannah, GA, his uncle Gerhard Berger and his wife Gerda of Vienna, Austria, a cousin Erwin Bock and his wife Inge of Vienna, Austria, a cousin Christa Layer; and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lea Berger, Josef Novotny and Mary and Douglas Acker; great-grandfather Hugo Henschl, a famed artist from Austria and an uncle Douglas Acker, Jr. A service celebrating Stefan's life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at the Audubon Society, 2325 Burr Street, Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a tax-deductible donation be made to the Stefan Novotny Fund for Aspiring Artists at Beechwood Arts, Westport, CT.
