My dearest Dziadziu,

I wish life could have prepared me
For the time in our lives
Our souls are set free.
I wish I was thought not to cry
When it's time to say our final goodbye.
May you always carry with you, where ever you may be
The love that surrounds you, from your family.
We all have different ways to show it and different ways to grieve.
But your strength left such an impression on us all
And now, you can finally breathe.

And my life feels a great void, since you left us that day.

Every day that you've been gone,

I love you and will always miss you. You lived a full life and we were all blessed to have you as part of ours. Even though it is the end, I know you were ready to accept it and now you are finally at peace. I will cherish the memories of you for the rest of my life, and I was so lucky that my daughters were able to share part of their lives with you.

Stefan,
The long journey has ended. To your children and grand-children you will always be the best dad and grandpa. To me, you will always be my second father, a great "raconteur", a good friend and someone who always "told it like it was". You will be dearly missed and often in my thoughts.
