Stella Dora Chagollan

Stella Lucero Chagollan, age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, in Tujunga, CA. She was born February 17, 1931, in Glendale, CA, to Joseph and Micaela (Zuniga) Lucero. She married Manuel Joseph Chagollan on October 28, 1951, in Los Angeles, CA. Manuel preceded her in death on February 14, 2005. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Tujunga, CA and worked in the Automotive Customer Service Dept. of Sears in Glendale, CA, displaying a wonderful knack for helping concerned customers and putting a smile on their face. Stella truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting with friends and family, food, and going on her yearly retreats to Valyermo. Stella had an uncanny ability to reach people in a positive way and always left you laughing with one of her funny stories. Stella was the heart of the family. We never had a question of where the family, and extended family, would gather when we had the opportunity and will now hold those memories in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Lorraine (David) Cravens of Arkansas, Carmen (James) Shaver of Redding, CA, and Peter and Paul Chagollan of Los Angeles, CA; 9 grandchildren, David Stubbs, James Shaver, John Shaver, Kate Cravens, Jennie Cravens, Nichole Harrod, Mark Shaver, Heidi Chagollan, and Mitchell “Sparks” Cravens; 11 great-grandchildren with another expected in June; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be David Cravens, Sparks Cravens, Mark Shaver, David Stubbs, Michael Guitterez, and Peter Chagollan.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Stella touched are invited to a viewing and rosary from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, with funeral services on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 9 a.m. Rosary and services will be held at San Fernando Mission, Mission Hills Mortuary Chapel, 11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills, CA 91345.
